The group exhibition ‘Meanwhile, in the glossy interface’ takes a look at the parallel stories to our everyday lives. Bringing out perspectives from different online inhabitants, from online workers to strollers and scrollers; it explores the psychological effects of extending the body online. Reflecting on augmented characters by using face filters, selfie cameras, live streams, or staged and highly manipulated photography, gathered artists Carmen Roca Igual, Dora Brkarić and Helena Roig Prats are looking into the commodification of the body online. Examining the policies behind algorithms that capture, distribute, and present the body online, the exhibition will draw critical attention to the screens we hold in our hands and how the images we share take on a life on their own.

Carmen presents her  video Novel (2020) in a new installation form, she accompanies the video with an adapted version of her work Gossip Quarters (2023) with a tetraptych on the windows. She takes some old paintings and adds a phrase “To find myself again” tying the exhibition’s themes together.
